14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed. My heart is like wax; it melts away within me.
My God Why Have You Forsaken Me
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are pulled apart. My heart has become like wax, melted within my bowels.
*Hithpārədū* (וְהִתְפָּרְדוּ) carries the force of being separated or pulled apart in different directions — rendered "pulled apart" rather than the softer "out of joint" to preserve the visceral physicality of the image. *Mē'ay* (מֵעָי) means the inner organs or bowels and is translated literally rather than softened to "chest" or "body," preserving the raw anatomical force of the original.

14I am completely exhausted [MET]MetaphorT4T flags this as figurative language — the meaning is not literal. The translator should find a natural equivalent metaphor in their target language., and all my bones are out of their joints/places. I no longer expect that God will save me; that expectation is gone completely, like wax that has melted away.
