The Wording
The Pioneer Translation Rendering

Acts 13:29

When they had completed everything written about him, they took him down from the tree and placed him in a tomb.

The Greek *xylon* is translated "tree," as the Pioneer Translation consistently does — it refers to the wooden stake or tree on which Jesus was executed, and this rendering preserves the raw physicality of the term as well as its connection to the Hebrew scriptures' curse language (Deuteronomy 21:23). The verb *kathelon* ("took him down") confirms the body was suspended on this structure.

When they had carried out everything that had been said about him in the Scriptures, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb.
